The Orientation Week Committee

The OWC works for the welfare of new students, mainly by organizing the orientation week for V&A. All new students at bachelor's in Biology, bachelor's in Chemistry, integrated master's in Biotechnology, One year programme in Biology and Chemistry, as well as master's in Biology and master's in Chemistry, are offered the opportunity to participate in the Orientation Week either as a first-year or as a first-year master-student 

We do our best to ensure that new students from far and near, and from all kinds of backgrounds, feel welcome with us, as well as getting a head start as a new student. The committee itself works with the planning and coordination of the orientation week. We usually organize: Summer Olympics, a themed costume party at Studentersamfundet, Bar Crawl, Flat hopping, V&A Safari, Nature games, and much, much more! In addition, the OWC also helps organize the annual ski trip to Åre in Sweden!! 

In Volvox & Alkymisten we have no formal admission to the student association, the most important thing is “Å elske hverandre”! You will be introduced to all of our traditions and customs during the orientation week.

Become a “fadder”

To give new students a good V&A welcome, a lot of “faddere” is needed , so apply!

A “fadder” is a older student (2-5 year student) who will with other “fadders” guide a group of first-years through the orientation weeks.
